Position Summary
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
Ensuring the quality and timely execution of scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and executing installation projects related to industrial mechanical systems.
Supporting the team leader in fulfilling administrative duties and safety protocols associated with engineering maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety Compliance
Adhere to established safe working practices, procedures, and legal regulations.
Keep updated on mechanical regulations and guidelines.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in relevant areas.
Engage in safety audits and risk assessments related to maintenance tasks and equipment usage.
Participate in necessary training sessions mandated by the organization or regulatory bodies to effectively perform all duties.
Report any incidents or hazards promptly.
Execute and verify isolations and lockouts of hazardous machinery following site protocols.
Issue Work Permits once trained, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.
Actively contribute to safety enhancement initiatives aimed at improving the safety performance of the department.
Conduct all job functions in alignment with the Code of Conduct.
Uphold and exemplify the core values and associated behaviors in all responsibilities.
Follow safety protocols pertinent to the role.

Operational Responsibilities
Ensure seamless maintenance support for manufacturing through effective shift handovers with maintenance and production teams.
Contribute to achieving defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance schedules and equipment availability.
Organize and prioritize your workload, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Conduct planned preventative maintenance activities according to established schedules.
Perform repairs to minimize unplanned downtime and maximize equipment availability.
Inspect mechanical systems and components to identify potential hazards, defects, and necessary adjustments or repairs.
Diagnose issues using appropriate tools and equipment, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Execute installation, modification, and decommissioning tasks as required.
Test mechanical systems and equipment to ensure compatibility and safety.
Utilize various tools and equipment safely, including access and lifting devices, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Operate site service equipment, including boilers and compressors.
Operate forklifts and mobile platforms if properly trained and certified.
Document spare parts usage from engineering stores.
Communicate maintenance concerns to equipment users and owners.

Qualifications
Experience
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance or industrial setting.
Knowledge
Familiarity with a diverse range of industrial equipment and machinery, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Understanding of site safety protocols, including permit-to-work procedures and isolation methods.
Qualifications / Skills
Completion of an apprenticeship with a City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate or equivalent in a Mechanical discipline.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
