As an Electrical Engineering Specialist, you will:

  • Play a vital role in the electrical assembly, wiring, and testing of specialized automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with our production team while gaining insights from the manufacturing teams and the broader Operations team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Wire machinery, sub-assemblies, and control panels according to Mpac specifications and documentation.
  • Engage with Senior Electrical Engineers, Supervisors, Managers, and project teams to identify and resolve challenges to ensure project delivery is effective and efficient.
  • Accurately log time and document any rework or non-value-added time.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in machine installations and setups, both domestically and internationally.
  • Support the development of apprentices and provide guidance.
  • Consistently demonstrate respect, integrity, trust, and excellence in all interactions with colleagues, clients, and suppliers, in alignment with Mpac's internal customer philosophy.
  • Be adaptable to occasionally undertake tasks that may extend beyond regular responsibilities.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

  • Deliver electrical assemblies on schedule, within budget, and to Mpac standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in the workspace.
  • Act as an advocate for Mpac values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in an electrical engineering setting.
  • Familiarity with electrical and automation machinery, along with troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of low voltage systems, including analogue and digital I/O and other common automation systems.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and problem-solving.
  • Competent IT skills for utilizing shop floor computer systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical and electrical schematics.
  • Relevant qualifications such as ONC, BTEC, or City and Guilds in electrical or mechatronic engineering.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

PREFERABLE SKILLS

  • Experience with installations involving pneumatic or electro-pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of EMC screening, earthing, and bonding for machinery.
  • Basic understanding of PLC programming.
