We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Lansbury Construction Services Ltd. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial and contractual management of site activities and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the commercial and contractual management of site activities and contractors
  • Provide commercial services and responsibilities, including overall lead of all site commercial activities
  • Identify and take advantage of commercial opportunities and minimize commercial risks at the construction site
  • Guide and monitor other commercial site personnel, and allocate tasks to the team
  • Responsible for claim management for site works, establishes necessary supporting documentation, assesses risk as well as incoming and outgoing claim potentials in close coordination with the relevant work package holder
  • Ensure all site related commercial aspects of changes/deviations/claims are documented in PIRS in close cooperation with the technical, project, and procurement staff
  • Participate in regular site meetings with the project team, subcontractors, consortium, and client, verify respective minutes of meeting
  • Ensure that all necessary contractual correspondence is acted upon to protect HZI's contractual position
  • Ensure correct administration of payment procedures in accordance with contract and legislation, and issues respective documents correctly and in time
  • Together with relevant technical or project personnel participate in commercial negotiations to reach agreements with subcontractors for allocated packages
  • Resolve, propose solutions for, or escalate site commercial issues
  • Support Project Director and Contract Manager Execution in client related commercial issues and alerts them in relation to site issues that might have an impact on the contract with the client
  • Maintain subcontract cost reports for subcontract site packages and present/report to senior management
  • Confirm site contractors compliance with insurance and securities provisions during the execution phase
  • Inform Commercial Manager Execution and Site Manager on a regular basis on commercial risks and opportunities
  • Establish documentation for insurance purposes
  • Support the Contract Manager in providing supporting information to the insurers in the event of a claim
  • Establish constructive relationship within the team, with other site personnel and subcontractors
Requirements
  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor > 10 years experience
  • Strong experience in major project delivery including construction of industrial plant
  • Proficient with standard form and bespoke contracts - NEC and FIDIC an advantage
  • Familiar with applicable HSEQ legal requirements
  • Assertive, diligent, detail and solution orientated
  • Commercially aware with experience in change management and producing claims
  • Competent negotiator and able to convincingly carry complex arguments
  • Flexible and independent while working within company policies and standards
  • High ability to work in a structured way
  • Project construction site experience of advantage
  • Takes responsibility and actively participates in finding solutions
  • Reliability, high ability to work under pressure, social competency, ability to manage conflict, assertiveness and service oriented
