Position OverviewThe company is seeking a dedicated Estimator or Senior Estimator with a background in commercial or high-end residential projects. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and established team, offering a pathway for long-term career development.
Key Responsibilities- Generate competitive quotations for a diverse array of construction projects, from initial client consultations to negotiations and handover to the Contracts Team.
- Identify client requirements, research necessary materials, and procure quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to create comprehensive packages for clients.
- Collaborate with Consultants and Architects to clarify ambiguities and define the scope of work.
- Disseminate inquiries to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate favorable terms and discounts with primary subcontractors.
- Prepare and manage payment applications and valuations to ensure timely cash flow.
- Compile documentation for variation claims.
- Evaluate subcontractor payment applications based on actual progress and pre-contract quotes.
- Possess a solid understanding of high-end residential or commercial construction.
- Utilize estimating software effectively and demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel at an intermediate level.
- Communicate clearly and precisely, including detailed calculations and specific construction information.
- Exhibit strong numeracy and financial management skills, with the ability to learn construction IT systems.
