Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Formulation Technician to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing antimicrobial solutions, setting up and monitoring production dispensing pumps, and manufacturing vital ancillary solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Antimicrobial Solutions: Prepare antimicrobial solutions in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production paperwork, including weighing, dissolution, and dilution.
  • Production Dispensing Pumps: Set up and monitor production dispensing pumps to ensure on-time and quality production output, including pouring, priming, and weight checks.
  • Ancillary Solutions: Manufacture various vital ancillary solutions, including ID media, buffers, and excipients.
  • Compliance Checks: Conduct compliance checks of laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including pipettes, balances, and extractors.
  • Raw Material Stock Levels: Maintain and supervise raw material stock levels, including consumables, intermediates, and equipment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Support the laboratory by washing and autoclaving equipment, including pumps, glassware, and other items.
  • Computer Software: Utilize computer software to process information, including SAP ERP, Microsoft Office, and tailored programs.
Requirements
  • Education: Ideally educated to A-level standard in a scientific subject.
  • Skills: Capable of following standard operating procedures and H&S guidelines, good collaboration and communication skills, able to prioritize tasks under own initiative, attention to detail when following procedures and keeping manual records, ability to perform complex manual tasks with dexterity, and digital literacy.
  • Experience: Laboratory experience is an advantage, and exposure to a fast-paced high-efficiency manufacturing type environment would be valuable.
