About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Assistant Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our accounting and financial reporting team, you will be responsible for managing a small portfolio of corporate and not-for-profit clients, providing complex financial reporting and consolidations, and assisting managers in delivering work profitably.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional client service and ensuring timely delivery of financial reports.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients within budget, addressing any material points identified on assignments with the team.
  • Plan assignments in accordance with our standard procedures, confirming arrangements with clients, including costs and billing arrangements.
  • Develop and maintain advanced technical knowledge through reading, courses, and CPD requirements, staying up-to-date with the firm's specialist services and publications.
  • Ensure assignments are completed efficiently, thoroughly, and in accordance with our procedures, providing adequate briefing, supervision, and training for junior staff.
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by the line manager, Head of Department, or any partner.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA/ICAS fully qualified.
  • Strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience of complex consolidations.
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and add value.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed people management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Corporate Taxation (preferred).
