About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Lead Digital Technical Architect to join our team at the Met Office. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our technology and data estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic thinking and planning for future technologies and systems to transform our observations data estate.
  • Define, design, and support the implementation of solutions that meet the Met Office's needs.
  • Communicate and justify design decisions within the context of the Met Office's strategic direction.
  • Make and drive decisions, manage change, and participate in wider Met Office initiatives that affect you and the teams around you.

What We Offer

  • An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 27%.
  • Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) of £7,000 per annum as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills.
  • Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave.
