Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems, including equipment and services, to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate within planned maintenance procedures for assets effectively and safely.
  • Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets as required.
  • Write up maintenance reports and technical procedures for Building Maintenance Activities.
  • Assist in the training and development of other maintenance/technical staff involved in site maintenance activities.
  • Carry out maintenance, inspection, and repairs to various types of electrical systems.
  • Diagnose faults on Electrical support systems and rectify where necessary.
  • Follow detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals to carry out planned maintenance, routine inspections, and reactive repairs.
  • Act as a HV/LV AP on site and undertake specialist works, including planning of these.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance routines, procedures, risk assessments, and preparing and maintaining relevant technical records.
  • Work with other craft qualified, semi-skilled, and non-skilled maintenance staff to develop cross-skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a teamwork basis.
  • Participate in emergency call-out arrangements and provide cover where necessary during sickness absence periods.
  • Carry out maintenance activities to assist in project and improvement development works, offering alternatives to improve the effectiveness of the operation of the site.

Requirements

  • Basic IT skills, including Web Quote, Email, CAFM, PDA, etc.
  • Good basic knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems.
  • Minimum of City and Guilds (or NVQ) at Level 3, within a trade discipline.
