This is an exciting opportunity to join the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Ophthalmic team as a part-time Band 5 staff nurse.
About the Role:We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to work in our Ophthalmology department, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent services.
The successful candidate will have a base at Worcester Royal Hospital and be required to work in all areas of the Ophthalmology department, including the Outpatient Consulting Suite, day care unit, and operating theatres.
As a countywide service, you will be required to travel between sites on occasions, and you will need to be flexible in working hours to cover all clinics and theatre sessions.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and meet the care and health education needs of patients
- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care, including discharge planning
- Work in accordance with the WAH Nursing Strategy and contribute to achieving its objectives
- Provide supervision, support, and education to unqualified staff and students
- Evidence continuing education for more experienced Band 5 nurses in specialty
- Computer literacy
- Counselling skills
- Experience working within a Day Surgery setting
- Experience working within Ophthalmology Outpatient departments and/or Ophthalmology Theatres
