About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team in Dudley, supporting children aged 2-5 years old in a nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant qualification, an up-to-date Enhanced Child DBS, and experience working with children who have severe and complex additional needs.
Key Responsibilities- Support the education and care of all children within the nursery school, working collaboratively with the Deputy Headteacher/Early Years Lead Educator/Senior Early Years Practitioner.
- Provide specific support and guidance to pupils with sensory and/or physical impairments, non-specific learning difficulties, and behavioral, emotional, and social development needs.
- Supervise and provide particular support for pupils with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
- Interact with pupils in a sensitive manner to support, enable, and enhance their learning, based on their wants, needs, and interests.
- Support the delivery and implementation of pupils' individual education plans, including adding relevant observation notes.
- Provide feedback to parents in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the Deputy Headteacher/Early Years Lead Educator/Senior Early Years Practitioner.
- Demonstrable experience of working with or caring for children aged 2-5 years old.
- General understanding of nursery school policies and procedures relating to health and safety, behavior, attendance, equal opportunities, and child protection.
- General understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
- Basic understanding of child development and learning.
- Relevant Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
