Job Title: Planning and Highways Lawyer

We are working with a Local Authority in the Oxfordshire Region to find a Planning and Highways Lawyer to support their department on a temporary basis.

The ideal candidate will be a UK-qualified lawyer with over 12 months' experience in:

  • Planning law matters
  • Highways experience is essential

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and advising on S.106 agreements, S.38 and S.278 agreements
  • Dealing with planning enforcement and planning appeal matters
  • Reviewing and advising on Development Control Committee reports
  • Attending meetings to advise on legal issues, governance, and procedure

The successful candidate will have experience of handling their own legal caseload and be able to work independently.

The Council offers a flexible working environment for this assignment, and previous planning legal experience in a local authority is essential.

The pay rate for this role is between £50-60 per hour.

We are looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible, and due to the urgent nature of the role, we require candidates to be available on no more than 2 weeks' notice.
