Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the company's success by providing accurate and timely estimates for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors to obtain quotes and assess risk levels associated with projects.
- Prepare and submit quotations and details of costs for work to be done, assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers.
- Monitor costs at different stages of a project to ensure they stay within estimated costs.
- Pricing from first principles, overseeing Tradition and Design & Build Tenders, producing tenders for submission, compiling take-offs, and preparing budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
- Supporting with new enquiries and opportunities, completing accurate bid documentation, and working closely with relevant construction project teams.
- Extensive knowledge of new build construction and refurbishment projects, including methods, contracts, and subcontract arrangements.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Up to £60,000 + car allowance/car + excellent benefits.
