Immediate Opportunity | Full-Time Position (40 Hours Weekly)
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our vibrant Finance team as a Finance Assistant.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Finance Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, organizing, and updating all Accounts Payable invoices, credit notes, and payments.
- Understanding the Chart of Accounts to accurately code all Accounts Payable transactions.
- Ensuring timely payment of authorized invoices at month-end.
- Matching authorized Purchase Orders and delivery dockets with supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy in calculations.
- Verifying that all supplier invoices are duly approved and reflect received goods before entering them into the Accounts Payable system.
- Preparing timely payments to suppliers, optimizing credit facilities and taking advantage of applicable discounts.
- Maintaining the Accounts Payable Ledger efficiently.
- Processing all invoices weekly to ensure accurate postings in the Accounts Payable ledger.
- Reconciling subsidiary accounts payable ledgers with the general ledger control totals daily.
- Producing Proposed Payment Schedules for the Financial Controller's approval by the 20th working day of each month.
- Organizing and filing all unpaid and paid invoices systematically by supplier accounts.
- Ensuring prompt payment of due invoices to maximize cash discounts at month-end.
- Forwarding the accrual summary to the Financial Controller on the last day of the month for inclusion in the General Ledger.
- Timely verification of room travel agency commission claims in collaboration with Front Office and Reservations.
- Timely verification of Events agency commission claims in conjunction with the Events team.
- Executing directives from any level of Senior Management as required.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Prior experience in a similar role within a 4/5-star environment is preferred.
- Proficient in systems such as Microsoft Office, Sun, and Opera.
- Professional demeanor with a customer-focused approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
Interpersonal Skills and Experience
The ability to effectively communicate with guests and staff to uphold a positive image of the hotel, while maintaining high standards of work under pressure.
