GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and skilled Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated team and contribute to the well-being of students at an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance to students with medical and physical needs.
  • Deliver high-quality care while ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for children.
  • Work in partnership with the SENCO to achieve EHCP outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and medical professionals to create comprehensive care plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians, providing updates on student progress and involving them in decision-making processes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop individualized support plans.
Requirements
  • NVQ Healthcare or an equivalent degree, or proof of having worked in a healthcare environment.
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and experience working with students with diverse learning needs such as Autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Experience in a healthcare role, preferably with children or young people with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications in healthcare, youth work, social work, education, or a related field.
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS registered to the update service or willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
