We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Health and Safety Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice on health and safety legislation, initiatives, and guidelines to ensure compliance across all Trust-owned or operated properties.
- Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and implement robust processes to ensure best practice health and safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on health and safety best practices and ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely.
- Collaborate with departments, clinical teams, and directorates to promote good practice in risk management and risk reduction.
- Monitor incidents and assist with accident/incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a health and safety environment, preferably in the NHS or a large organization.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with people at all levels.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
- Valid and current driving license and access to a roadworthy, taxed, and insured vehicle.
