We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PV Engineer to join our team at ib vogt. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing large-scale photovoltaic projects from conceptualization to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Assess site topography, identify potential constraints, and select suitable technology for green field development, including BESS and agriPV.
- Prepare and review design specifications, engineering design packages, and technical requirements for large-scale PV projects.
- Review and evaluate tender documents, technical requirements, and single line diagrams up to MV.
- Evaluate climate data sources, prepare energy yield simulations, and provide key project performance indicators for commercial project optimization.
- Lead and participate in site visits to identify buildable areas, optimize layout design, and prepare site assessment reports.
- Lead and participate in technical discussions and negotiations with third-party technical advisors and consultants for Technical Due Diligence of PV projects.
- Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energies, or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of PV system design, IEC codes, and specifications according to project/country-specific requirements.
- Good understanding of techno-economic aspects of solar projects and latest market developments.
- Hands-on experience in solar power plant design, preferably in utility-scale projects, with at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy projects in the UK and ideally a minimum of 5 years in solar PV projects, BESS, and ideally Floating and AgriPV.
- Sound design knowledge in areas of solar plant layouts, civil design, SLD, MV, and HV equipment, Power Transmission, System loss calculation, and general electrical requirements of large-scale solar power plants.
- In-depth knowledge of modules, inverters, cables, transformers, MV switchgears, relays, and industry best practices.
- Software skills: AutoCAD, PVSyst, PVCase or Helios 3D, and MS Office.
- Language: Business Fluent/Native English, other language a plus.
- Pro-active team player with high degree of self-management and problem-solving ability.
- Highly committed, strong communication and negotiation skills, interpersonal and intercultural competence, positive attitude, enthusiasm to learn, willingness to contribute, and travel affinity.
