Job Title: Content Editor

Job Summary:

TRT World is seeking a highly skilled Content Editor to join our team. As a Content Editor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of editors and providing guidance on the implementation of our style guide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subbing scripts from the field and ensuring they are balanced, clear, and accurate.
  • Copy editing in-house packages, full-frame graphics, and video graphics.
  • Monitoring the news rundown, which includes ulays, straps, tickers, etc.
  • Working closely with the executive producer to ensure scripts meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Staying abreast of editorial priorities and developments to ensure the channel's content and style are consistently high-quality.
  • Overseeing the updating of the style guide and making agreed-to amendments as necessary.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Journalism or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Television sector.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience in television news at a senior level.
  • A willingness to mentor developing writers.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communications skills.
  • Strong editorial judgment.
  • Previous experience in a large national or international broadcast news channel.
  • Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests.
  • Willingness to work shifts and irregular hours.
  • Knowledge of digital, social media, video, and content research.
  • High level of proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to relocate to İstanbul, Turkiye.
