About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team in Essex County Council's Adult Social Care department. As a Social Worker, you will work with adults and their families who have complex social needs and are more vulnerable due to disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity.

Your primary responsibility will be to maximise the potential of these individuals to live healthily and independently, working within statutory legal frameworks. You will share ideas and best practice, providing specialist advice as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and review the needs of vulnerable adults, developing and implementing care plans to support their well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including health partners, to provide a comprehensive service.
  • Chair meetings involving clients, family members, carers, and other multi-agency professionals to develop strong relationships and provide a supportive framework.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance to ensure best practice.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience of social work, modelling good practice and providing advice and guidance in complex situations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community.
