Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly financial statements including Profit & Loss accounts, variance analysis, and detailed commentaries.
  • Conducting and presenting monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Overseeing the weekly Profit & Loss flash forecast reporting and providing analytical insights to the business.
  • Formulating and delivering weekly key performance objectives to ensure operational goals are achieved.
  • Managing the month-end closing procedures, ensuring all relevant journals, including accruals and prepayments, are accurately recorded.

  • Assisting in the maintenance of cash flow models and forecasting.
  • Providing mentorship and support to two accounts assistants, ensuring effective management of Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions.

  • Ensuring that robust financial controls, processes, and procedures are in place for daily financial operations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the UK (Hospitality, Leisure, Retail sectors).
  • Demonstrated discipline and a high level of integrity.
  • AAT qualified or Part Qualified Accountant or equivalent (e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.
  • Experience in preparing monthly financial reports.
  • Able to perform well under pressure and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to changing priorities, and capable of managing workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
