Job Summary:

A well-established and reputable specialist Temporary Works Design Consultancy, Aldwych Consulting Ltd, has an opening for a Technical Director to join their proficient and experienced team at their head office. The consultancy has around 70 staff and is the in-house design arm for a major contractor, also undertaking external works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects and manage a design team, overseeing a range of building structures work and leadership roles.
  • Develop and implement high-quality design solutions in a contractor-led, often reactive work environment.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical experts to deliver complex building projects, including high-profile and challenging works.
  • Contribute to the development of the consultancy's design expertise and reputation.

Requirements:

  • Highly technical and hands-on structural engineer with significant experience in building structures work and leadership roles.
  • MICE or MIStructE qualified, with excellent communication skills and English language proficiency.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, leading from the front and making clear decisions.
  • Geotechnical knowledge and experience in permanent works design and geotechnical works.
  • Right to work in the UK and living within commuting distance.
