About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team at Federal Management System, Inc. in the United States.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports to US Finance and analyzing US GAAP balance sheet and income statement. They will also coordinate quarterly close activities in conjunction with US Finance closing schedule and perform GL account reconciliations to ensure valid information in the accounting system.

Additionally, the Financial Manager will prepare management reporting packages for Canadian management and provide meaningful analysis of results by liaising with the relevant Canadian business units. They will also prepare detailed general and administrative expense analysis, liaising with intercompany affiliates to analyze intercompany charges including eliminations for reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of Canadian insurance or reinsurance accounting experience and a high degree of technical and analytical expertise. Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial reports to US Finance and analyze US GAAP balance sheet and income statement
  • Coordinate quarterly close activities in conjunction with US Finance closing schedule
  • Perform GL account reconciliations to ensure valid information in the accounting system
  • Prepare management reporting packages for Canadian management

Requirements:

  • Competitive salary range: $100,000 - $120,000/year
