VHL Lecturer in Music

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Music Lecturer to join our team at Wiltshire College & University Centre. As a VHL Lecturer in Music, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum, preparing schemes of learning, and developing lesson and assessment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and assessing Level 2 & 3 Music Performance & Production courses.
  • Creating and implementing engaging schemes of learning and lesson plans.
  • Organising and arranging live events such as gigs, shows, or exhibitions.
  • Utilising DAWs like Logic or similar software in your teaching.
  • Supporting students with their UCAS applications and career guidance.
  • Collaborating with the community on live projects and external events.
  • Organising study trips and enrichment activities.
  • Contributing to the department's quality standards in terms of retention, attendance, success rates, progression, final grades, and value added.
Requirements:
  • A degree or higher technical qualification in Music Performance, Production, or a related field.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one).
  • Experience working with Logic or similar DAWs.
  • A track record of organising and arranging live events.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to student enrichment and pastoral care.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to maintaining high standards.
