About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Adviser to join our team at the MND Association. As a key member of our policy team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring people affected by MND have access to new and innovative treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on issues related to access to treatments and healthcare, including the availability of medicines, genetic tests, and new care models.
  • Monitor the policy landscape and regulatory environment, develop policy positions, and engage with external partners to maximise the availability and accessibility of treatments and clinical trials.
  • Collaborate closely with our internal colleagues, particularly the Senior Policy Advisor for Research and Healthcare, to enhance the availability of clinical trials.
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, and people with MND, to ensure their needs are recognised and addressed.
  • Support our public affairs and campaigning efforts to influence politicians and decision-makers on issues related to access to treatments.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the policy environment governing access to treatments.
  • Demonstrable experience working with key organisations including NICE, MHRA, and NHS England, as well as industry stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, along with the ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload.
