Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and patient teaching assistant to support a class in a partnership school based in Newport. The classroom is a dedicated workspace for children with severe ASD and some with behavioural issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a small class of pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Provide social and emotional support to pupils
  • Adhere to school's safeguarding and protection policies
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and teaching assistants

Requirements:

  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Hold a Child-only DBS certificate registered on the Update System
  • Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months

About the Role:

This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent at a later date. Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. We offer all our registered candidates free child protection and prevent duty training.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay rate for this role is £12.90 per hour, inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. We offer a range of benefits to our candidates, including free training and DBS checks.
