Position Overview

We are collaborating with a prominent housing organization seeking a Building Surveyor for a permanent role. The compensation for this position is up to £46,000 annually, based on experience.

The successful applicant will possess comprehensive surveying experience, have access to a vehicle, and ideally be familiar with the Northgate system.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting surveys related to responsive repairs, vacant properties, stock condition assessments, disrepair claims, and planned maintenance projects such as painting schedules.
  • Managing various one-off projects as needed, including feasibility studies, specifications, on-site surveys, supervision, and preparation of quotations.
  • Performing pre-inspections and post-inspections for responsive repairs, addressing resident complaints, and conducting Energy Performance surveys to generate the necessary certificates.
  • Executing surveys and inspections related to the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) when required.
Required Experience
  • Experience in a social housing context.
  • Background in construction or maintenance.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficiency in building inspections, including both ongoing and completed work.
  • Understanding of Section 11 of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985 concerning disrepair claims and pre-action protocols.
  • Knowledge of building surveys and relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with responsive maintenance practices.
