Health and Safety Manager

Our client, a leading scaffolding contractor, is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in promoting a positive health and safety culture within the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Promote and Implement Health and Safety Best Practices: Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide Technical Support and Guidance: Offer expert advice and coaching to managers, supervisors, and operatives to enable them to undertake their roles and responsibilities for health, safety, and the environment.
- Audit and Assess Health and Safety Standards: Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify gaps and areas for improvement, and work with managers to implement corrective actions.
- Identify and Implement Opportunities for Improvement: Continuously monitor and evaluate health and safety processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
- Participate in Audit and Inspection Processes: Participate in audit and inspection processes, documenting all accidents, risk assessments, and other statutory records.
- Conduct Annual Reviews of Policies and Procedures: Conduct annual reviews of all policies and procedures to ensure they reflect the needs of the business and are compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in Implementing Health and Safety Policies and Procedures: Assist in implementing health and safety policies, procedures, and systems in accordance with legislation, industry safety guidelines, and the IMS policy.
- Conduct Random Reviews of Method Statements: Conduct random reviews of method statements to ensure compliance with company expectations, the IMS policy, and current legislation.
- Represent the Company at External Meetings: Act as company representative at designated external meetings relating to health and safety.
- Assist with Health and Safety Inductions: Assist with the initial health and safety inductions for new starters.
- Maintain Procedures for Monitoring: Maintain procedures for monitoring local authorities, contractors, consultants, fire authority, and HSE.
- Strong IT and Communication Skills: Possess strong IT skills, including email, word, and excel, and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders.
- Driving Licence: Hold a valid driving licence with no more than 6 points.
