We are seeking a dedicated Lead Clinical Fellow to join our esteemed team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. This role is designed for individuals at the ST/CT 3-8 level in the field of Acute Medicine, offering a comprehensive 12-month contract.
Departmental FocusThe successful candidate will be positioned within the Acute Medicine department, primarily engaging with both the Acute Medicine Assessment unit and the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit. This role encompasses a potential negotiable on-call commitment, aligning with the frequency of other Specialist Registrars.
Responsibilities- Oversee the management of 34 in-patient beds across the Acute Medicine Assessment unit and Medical SDEC unit.
- Facilitate patient care in a 30-person waiting area and 10 cubicles designated for treatment.
- Participate in the Acute Medicine Clinic and AKI Clinic, addressing a diverse range of acutely unwell patients.
- Provide senior leadership to the Medical SDEC unit and collaborate with clinical teams.
- Contribute to service development initiatives aimed at enhancing the success of the SDEC department.
The role requires a commitment to work from 10 AM to 6 PM on regular working days, predominantly within the Medical SDEC unit, with flexibility to assist in the Acute Medicine Assessment Unit as necessary.
