Mechanic Technician

About the Role
Tradebe is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at our Fawley site. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and defect maintenance tasks, identifying and addressing any issues that may impact plant availability.
- Conduct risk assessments and method statements for maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Department to determine and execute repair and preventative maintenance on mechanical machinery.
- Assist in the planning and preparation for plant maintenance shutdown periods.
- Provide mechanical maintenance support to maximize plant operations and provide assistance to other maintenance colleagues as needed.
Requirements
- Numeracy, literacy, and experience with computerized software packages.
- Good communication skills and a team player.
- Valid driving license and FLT driver certification.
- High standard of workmanship and flexibility in approach to work.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Good experience in mechanical maintenance and installation.
- Proven experience in refurbishing pumps, conveyors, elevators, shredders, hydraulics, filter presses, bearings, gear boxes, fans, etc.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
- Knowledge of DCS, ESD, and PLC-based control systems.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level III or HNC in mechanical maintenance.
- Recognized technicians' apprenticeship.
