About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Dietitian to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Respiratory Dietitian, you will play a vital role in providing specialist dietetic advice and support to patients with respiratory conditions, including COPD, bronchiectasis, and tuberculosis.

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with respiratory consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for patients. You will also be responsible for conducting assessments, providing education, and monitoring patients' progress to ensure optimal nutritional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with respiratory conditions to identify nutritional needs and develop individualized nutrition plans.
  • Provide specialist dietetic advice and support to patients, families, and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized nutrition plans.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to monitor patients' progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed.
  • Develop and deliver education programs for patients, families, and carers on respiratory nutrition and dietetics.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nutrition policies and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Dietitian.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Dietetics or a related field.
  • Experience working in a respiratory setting or with patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of respiratory nutrition and dietetics principles and practices.
