Finance Analyst Job Description

Goodman Masson is seeking a highly skilled Finance Analyst to join our team. As a Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in designing, managing, and continuously improving our financial and performance reporting system.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and test reporting frameworks using Power BI to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  2. Analyse financial and performance data to provide actionable insights to senior management and the board.
  3. Generate and deliver financial and performance reports, maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams to gather, validate, and manage data, ensuring accuracy in all performance reports.
  5. Prepare and submit regulatory reporting returns as required.
  6. Provide clear data commentary and presentations to support key business decisions.
  7. Manage and continuously improve reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  8. Conduct complex variance and trend analysis on data used in reports.
  9. Handle management accounts in relation to budgets and forecasts.

Requirements:

  1. Strong understanding of financial management reporting and performance metrics, particularly in the housing sector.
  2. Strong systems knowledge and background.
  3. Proficient in Power BI and advanced Excel, with experience in managing and analysing large data sets.
  4. Recognised accounting qualification.
  5. Able to interpret complex data, identify trends, and summarise key insights clearly.
  6. High degree of accuracy, with a systematic and problem-solving approach.
  7. Ability to present data-driven insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  8. Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and building relationships with stakeholders.

Desirable:

  1. Experience with housing benchmarking tools like Housemark.
