About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to provide essential support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a secondary special school.

The successful candidate will lead classes with pre-planned cover when the teacher is absent and may be called upon on short notice to provide essential cover to facilitate student learning and development.

The school provides high-quality education and support for students aged 11-16 with a range of additional needs, primarily focused on SEMH. The role of the teacher is essential in supporting the academic and personal growth of these students.

About You

We require someone who is fully invested in and shares the school's vision of making a real difference in the lives of their students. The ideal candidate will feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and be adaptable.

  • Secondary school-based experience is preferred.
  • SEMH experience is essential.
  • Full-time availability (Monday - Friday).
  • Patience, resilience, enthusiasm, and flexibility.
  • Confident in leading classes and managing challenging behaviour.
  • Able to drive and have access to your own car.
About the Job

The teacher will deliver personalized lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with additional needs, often following pre-planned lessons. They will create a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment that encourages learning and development.

The teacher will collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals, including teaching assistants and specialists, to support the students' educational and emotional needs.
