Job Title: Technology Transfer Manager

LGC Ltd is an international life sciences company working with customers in various sectors. Our Grant Management Group supports medical and health research across the UK, and we are expanding our expertise in technology transfer.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Technology Transfer Manager with experience in tech transfer, intellectual property management, and commercialisation of research in the medical, health, and life science sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects related to IP management and commercialisation
  • Work with legal and patent subcontractors to resolve IP and commercialisation cases
  • Gather data and provide analysis to support business cases for IP commercialisation
  • Facilitate and deliver training for researchers on IP and commercialisation
  • Work with internal and external legal advice to review collaboration agreement issues
  • Ensure appropriate management of IP for specific cases
  • Support other team members with technology transfer activities
  • Support industrial partnerships and the reagents portfolio
  • Provide entrepreneurial training and support due diligence reviews
Requirements:
  • Degree in life sciences with a business or law qualification (advantageous)
  • Significant experience in technology transfer and commercialisation of complex IP and patent portfolios
  • Experience in negotiating commercialisation licences and spin-out creation
  • Ability to communicate complex information regarding intellectual property and commercialisation
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience in a customer-facing service role with a wide range of active projects
  • Experience working with external legal counsel and patent agents
  • Experience delivering IP-related training to scientists
  • Experience reviewing research funding applications and performing due diligence checks

This is an office-based, hybrid role with an expectation for all employees to attend our offices in Victoria, London, usually worked as 1 to 2 days per week, and may increase, subject to team requirements.
