Job Title:
Senior Controls & Instrumentation Project Engineer.


EC&I Partners is a prominent player in the energy sector, specializing in the support of power generation and gas storage initiatives, maintenance operations, and outages across various assets.


We are seeking a seasoned Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Project Engineer to take on a pivotal role within our team.


This position will primarily operate from multiple power station locations, necessitating travel and overnight stays as part of project execution and maintenance activities.


The outage team is responsible for managing a portfolio of power plants, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.

Your Responsibilities:


We are looking for individuals who demonstrate a proactive and enthusiastic approach, are self-driven, and can take ownership of challenges to implement effective solutions across our operations.


You will be expected to exhibit and enhance your extensive knowledge and skills in a variety of complex C&I engineering and maintenance tasks, optimizing resource utilization and facility availability.


Demonstrating individual accountability, self-motivation, and autonomy is essential, alongside a strong commitment to our health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards.


Key Activities:


Utilize your expertise to lead and execute projects and outages, manage stakeholder relationships across the organization and supply chain, ensuring compliance with processes and regulatory standards while maintaining high HSSE and quality performance.


You will engage in both proactive and reactive tasks, including troubleshooting and problem resolution across a wide range of process systems, contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, time, cost, quality, and technical performance.


Proven capabilities to lead project teams will be essential, adapting to project complexity as required.


Ensure the sharing of best practices across sites by networking and benchmarking with various plants and engineering teams to achieve optimal performance and cost efficiency.


You will be responsible for defining project scopes and developing both technical and contractual specifications, ensuring meticulous attention to detail in contractor quality assurance and control.


Actively promote a culture of health, safety, environmental awareness, and quality, seeking continuous improvements in these areas and contributing to their planning and execution for asset support.


Essential Qualifications:


A Higher National Diploma or Degree in a Control & Instrumentation related field is required, complemented by a solid technical foundation in engineering, project management, and maintenance practices.


Proficiency in applying health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards at a practical level is necessary.


A comprehensive understanding of complex C&I process systems, current regulations, and policies affecting the management of engineering assets is crucial, including knowledge of Functional Safety and Cyber Security for Industrial Control Systems.


Strong interpersonal skills are essential for fostering effective relationships within the team and with senior stakeholders.


Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills will facilitate effective task prioritization and resource management.


In-depth knowledge of project management tools and techniques is expected, alongside the ability to manage multiple contracts within a project framework, addressing health, safety, environmental, and quality aspects as well as commercial and technical considerations.


A full and clean UK driving license is required.


Desirable Skills:


Experience with lean tools for resolving engineering issues, management of DCS and PLC systems, and familiarity with SAP-based systems is advantageous.


Experience in fast-paced environments will be beneficial.
