Overview:
Tier One Recruitment is working with a prestigious healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi to recruit an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist & Pain Management Specialist. This role involves providing comprehensive anaesthesia services to surgical patients, including emergency situations, managing critically ill ICU patients, and contributing to the training and development of junior medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct anaesthesia for routine and emergency surgical procedures, working as part of a resuscitation team and managing critically ill ventilated ICU patients.
- Perform assessments and re-assessments for patients in the outpatient department (OPD), on admission, and prior to procedures.
- Administer anaesthesia using the full range of anaesthetic agents and techniques.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to nursing staff, specialists, and registrars, as well as training on new techniques and procedures.
- Conduct pre-operative interviews to assess patients, develop individualized anaesthesia care plans, and ease patient anxiety.
- Manage sedation during surgeries and monitor patients during recovery, ensuring accurate documentation of the process.
- Conduct post-operative assessments to evaluate recovery from anaesthesia, address any complications, and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Supervise the use and documentation of controlled substances in both Obstetrical and main operating theatres.
- Stay updated on new procedures, techniques, and advancements in anaesthesia.
- Participate actively in the education and training of junior anaesthesiologists and nursing staff.
- Provide anaesthesia services for all age groups in routine and emergency situations, adhering to appropriate dosage guidelines.
- Actively participate in CPR and respond to anaesthesia-related emergencies while on call.
Qualifications:
- MBBS degree from an accredited medical school.
- Postgraduate degree in Anaesthesia (MD Anaesthesiology) or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of full-time anaesthesiology practice post-MD or equivalent certification (e.g., American Board of Anaesthesiology certification, Fellowship of the College of Anaesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeons - FCA/FRCA).
- Comprehensive knowledge of current anaesthetic agents, techniques, and safe practices in anaesthesia.
- Ability to provide on-site assessment of personnel, equipment, and the anaesthesia environment in the absence of the Chief Anaesthesiologist.
- Demonstrated high standard of professionalism, clinical expertise, and commitment to patient care.
