Cremation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Crematorium Technician to join our team at Cheltenham Borough Council. As a key member of our Bereavement Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring dignified farewells for our community.
Key Responsibilities- Dispose of the dead by cremation and monitor cremators and ancillary equipment.
- Oversee chapel duties and act as a chapel attendant for our Bereavement Service.
- Provide a first-class experience for the bereaved, visitors, clergy, and all who use our service.
- Carry out business support duties and responsibilities as required.
- Proactive team member with a positive attitude and customer-focused approach to service delivery.
- Ability to work in a crematorium environment, carrying out chapel duties, cremation processes, and associated duties.
- Effective communication skills to interact with the bereaved in a calm, polite, and sympathetic manner.
- Ability to work under pressure and within restricted timescales.
- Physical manual activities required.
