Job Summary: As a Sheet Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal products according to specifications and drawings. You will work with various materials such as steel, aluminium, and stainless steel while ensuring high-quality standards and safety regulations are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and Interpret Technical Drawings: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Metal Fabrication: Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using various tools and equipment (e.g., shears, presses, and brakes).
- Welding and Assembly: Weld, assemble, and finish metal components as per specifications.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks at different stages of fabrication to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members and management to improve processes and productivity.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues as they arise.
- Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Inventory Management: Assist in inventory management, including tracking materials and supplies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator or in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Tool Operation: Skilled in using hand and power tools, as well as welding equipment (MIG, TIG, etc.).
- Metal Knowledge: Knowledge of various metal materials and their properties.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and high standards for quality workmanship.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Communication: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational Training: Relevant vocational training or certification in fabrication or metalworking.
- CNC Experience: Experience with CNC machinery is a plus.
- Health and Safety: Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the workplace.
