Nacro is a leading national charity dedicated to changing lives, building stronger communities, and reducing crime. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Support Specialist to join our team in Sheffield.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of residents and properties in your allocated area, providing flexible and holistic support to meet their diverse needs.
- Develop and implement person-centered support plans, including accessing and using housing and accommodation services to support residents' move-on to longer-term accommodation.
- Ensure all support plans and risk assessments are unique, inclusive, and person-centered, taking into account residents' complex needs and circumstances.
- Provide weekly support sessions (up to 2 hours per week) working with residents to achieve their goals and objectives, and maintain up-to-date individual resident records.
- Support residents in accessing housing benefit and completing referrals to specialist support agencies in the community as required.
- Liaise with partner agencies, such as the Probation and Prison Services, Courts, and Police, to ensure effective collaboration and support.
- Ensure properties are adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and clean, and empower and motivate residents to identify and achieve desired outcomes.
Requirements
- Ability to develop person-centered support and move-on plans.
- Understanding of safeguarding and experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs.
- Flexibility to travel within your allocated area for training and team meetings, and be flexible to cover other local patches as required.
- Familiarity with computer-based packages and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
