About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Compliance Officer to join our team at Sopra Steria. As a key member of our Procurement Solutions team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of procurement compliance and quality assurance across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of tender documentation and project outcomes to identify areas for improvement and suggest recommendations for enhancement.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to Procurement Solutions colleagues on governance best practices and compliance procedures.
  • Develop and implement policies and tools to resolve complex issues and improve processes, ensuring seamless integration with category project teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the Procurement Compliance and Quality Assurance team to drive continuous improvement and excellence in procurement practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends, case law, and regulatory requirements in public procurement, ensuring our organization remains compliant and competitive.
Requirements
  • Proven expertise in UK public sector procurement, with a deep understanding of the UK Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and relevant policy guidance.
  • Experience in conducting quality assurance and compliance reviews, identifying areas for improvement, and suggesting recommendations for enhancement.
  • Strong knowledge of the legal aspects of procurement and supply, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders in a positive and constructive manner.
  • CIPS level 4 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in project and programme management, with a track record of delivering high-value projects and programmes in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in delivering strategic projects through all stages of the procurement lifecycle, with a focus on high-value and complex procurements.
  • Knowledge of category management principles and experience in implementing procurement strategies at a regional or national level.
  • Experience with digital procurement tools and processes, with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing costs.
