We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical research services, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the safe and effective conduct of clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate expert research nursing care for patients participating in clinical trials.
- Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant regulations, including the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006.
- Facilitate the recruitment of patients to clinical trials, working collaboratively with the research team to ensure high-quality study conduct.
- Act as a patient advocate, providing support and assistance as required, and ensuring that patients are fully informed and involved in their care.
- Supervise the safe administration of experimental therapies and monitor the expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatment modalities used in clinical trials.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical research protocols, ensuring that they are aligned with the Trust's research strategy and priorities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that clinical trials are conducted in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Participate in the education and training of healthcare professionals to enable them to care for patients participating in clinical trials.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of clinical research databases and systems, ensuring that data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Level 1 NMC Registered Nurse qualification.
- Experience in clinical research, including clinical trials and research governance.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
