Job Opportunity

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Early Career Teaching Fellow in Korean Studies. This fixed-term appointment is ideal for a recent PhD graduate or early career researcher within four years of the award of their PhD.

The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching during semester time and will have the opportunity to focus on developing their research during non-teaching weeks. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work is interdisciplinary, with qualifications and training in the social sciences and connections to broader East Asian and global issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and assess student performance at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Design and deliver course materials
  • Contribute to the development of the Korean Studies curriculum
  • Engage in research and knowledge exchange activities

Requirements:

  • PhD in-hand in a relevant discipline (politics, international relations, sociology, media and communications, social anthropology)
  • Fluency in English and Korean languages
  • Commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
  • Experience of teaching and assessment of student performance
