Sustainability Procurement Strategy Lead

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Sustainability Manager to lead our strategy for waste and recycling across all of Morrisons. As a key member of our Procurement team, you will be responsible for managing costs and income across all waste categories, driving waste mitigation and/or recycling solutions to support the business meet our Zero General Waste Target.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive waste and recycling strategy to minimize waste volumes and maximize income
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure effective waste management and recycling services
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the needs of the business are met
- Deliver on our plan to reduce general waste volumes through innovative solutions and processes
- Get the most value possible from all waste streams and turn net spend into income, while minimizing costs
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with strong knowledge of the industry and supplier base. You will need to have experience and ability in the following areas:
- Defining a clear strategy and executing it with the support of the team
- Evaluating, reviewing, and challenging business cases and complex commercial proposals
- Constructing complex tender documentation, contracts, service level agreements, and commercial agreements that minimize risk to the company
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, driven, self-motivated, and resilient
- Track record of procurement within a large complex organization
- Developing and implementing category management practices and strategies
- Supplier relationship management
- Commercial and contract drafting and negotiation
- Procurement project management
- Relationship building and influencing at all levels to drive business and commercial benefits
