About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team at Thatcham Court Care Home. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the care home remains functional and safe for our residents and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repair tasks to a high standard, with minimal disruption to our residents and visitors.
  • Contribute to the management of the maintenance budget, taking the lead as appropriate.
  • Perform ad-hoc internal decoration of all accessible areas, ensuring a high standard of finish.
  • Report unrepairable defects to management, escalating or seeking specialist repair if required.
  • Ensure all health and safety and compliance checks are carried out to deadlines, and all policies and guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full driving licence.
  • A building/electrical/plumbing qualification or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a property maintenance or general repairs role.
  • Previous experience in a site management role and experience managing consultants, contractors, and contracted suppliers would be advantageous.
  • Friendly and approachable, with a good understanding of building services, including heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing.
  • Able to work flexibly to meet demands and happy to help the wider team.
