About the Role:
Altus Partners is seeking a seasoned Group Financial Controller to join our client, a leading retail brand backed by private equity. As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting directly to the CFO, you will provide strategic financial guidance and insights to drive business growth.
- Lead a team of 22 finance professionals, including 5 direct reports, and develop a high-performing leadership infrastructure.
- Oversee the leadership and development of Payables, Receivables, Financial/Management Accounting, Tax, and Treasury teams.
- Lead the month-end process and consolidation of the group's 25 entities.
- Ensure the completion of statutory accounting and year-end processes for all entities.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance reporting cycles and management accounts.
- Cash flow management and maintaining strong relationships with banks.
- Ongoing utilization and development of the accounting ERP system.
- Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax requirements and deadlines.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant with a strong audit background.
- Relevant financial controller experience with a track record of developing teams and executing process improvement initiatives.
- Commercial approach to controllership.
- Exposure to leading treasury and tax functions is desirable.
- Private equity/multi-site experience is a plus, but not required.
- Hybrid working arrangement available, with a requirement to be on-site in the company's HQ 3 days a week.
