Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic pharmacy technician to become a part of our Pharmacy Clinical Trials team in the capacity of a Senior Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician.

This role is pivotal in facilitating the provision of a superior clinical trial service to sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), healthcare professionals, and patients, while ensuring adherence to UK Clinical Trials Regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and departmental protocols.

Candidate Requirements:

Applicants should possess qualifications as pharmacy technicians with experience in hospital pharmacy settings, including roles in dispensary services and aseptic preparation. While experience in clinical trials is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Upholding and enhancing the Pharmacy Clinical Trials service in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines
  • Facilitating the operational initiation of new clinical trials
  • Managing day-to-day Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) activities
  • Implementing amendments to clinical trial protocols
  • Conducting close-out and documentation archiving tasks
  • Acting as the primary liaison for sponsors and research implementation teams
  • Dispensing medications for clinical trials
  • Preparing for regulatory audits and inspections
  • Ensuring accurate invoicing for sponsors
  • Contributing to the execution of the Trust's clinical trials pharmacy strategy
