Job Title: Consultant Vascular SurgeonWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Vascular Surgeon to join our team at the NHS. This is a full-time position, comprising 11 Programmed Activities (PAs), and reflects the needs of our service following the continuing expansion of Frimley Health Trust.
Main Responsibilities- Provide a general and specialized vascular service, including elective and emergency surgery, for the vascular network across Surrey, NE Hampshire, and E Berkshire.
- Be an active member of the local and network MDTs and work at any of the spoke hospitals when required, receiving honorary contracts.
- FRCS or equivalent registration
- Full GMC registration
- Possession of CTT or within six months of receipt at the date of interview
- Completion of recognised College speciality training in sub-specialty
- Entry on Specialist Register
- Evidence of research activity or higher degree
- A wide grounding during training of all aspects of emergency & elective surgery within the speciality of vascular surgery
- Experience of teaching clinical skills to undergraduates and postgraduates & operative skills to trainee specialists
- Understanding of principles and participation in audit activity
- Understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance and demonstration of experience of evidence-based practice.
- Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems
- Undertaken Research with published papers in refereed journals
- Computer literate - confident in using MS Office, email and internet
- Commitment to working within Trust policies and procedures as guided by the Clinical Director.
- Commitment to Continuing Medical Education / Continuing Professional Development.
- Commitment to management priorities of the department of surgery
- Caring attitude to patients, staff & colleagues
- Enquiring and critical approach to work
