Role Summary:
We are in search of an accomplished finance professional who possesses a strong leadership capability and a commitment to achieving financial excellence. The Finance Controller will report directly to the Finance Director and play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, ensuring the organization's fiscal health, adherence to regulations, and strategic advancement within the investment sector. Candidates with a background in Wealth Management or Insurance are particularly encouraged to apply.
Key Duties:
- Oversee and guide the Finance team to ensure precise and timely financial reporting.
- Manage the month-end closing procedures and prepare management accounts.
- Enhance processes and controls with a focus on automation and operational efficiency.
- Establish and maintain a strong financial control framework.
- Supervise Accounts Receivable and Payable teams to ensure effective transaction processing.
- Guarantee compliance with FCA regulations, CRS/FATCA reporting, VAT submissions, and R&D tax credits.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to team members, promoting professional growth.
- Collaborate with Operations to enhance process efficiency.
- Engage with auditors and external advisors for annual reporting, accounts, and tax computations.
- Oversee payroll management and cost control measures for business sustainability.
- Manage cash flow reporting and oversight.
- Support the transition to a unified general ledger/ERP system.
- Uphold financial policies and ensure adherence to established processes.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven Leader: Demonstrated experience in leading finance teams with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical Thinker: Ability to thrive in dynamic environments while managing multiple projects effectively.
- Innovative Mindset: Willingness to challenge existing processes and implement innovative solutions.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong numerical and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Background in financial services such as banking, investment management, or insurance.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP.
- Extensive experience with Sage, including analysis codes, integrations, and automation.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (knowledge of SQL, Python, or VBA is advantageous).
- Experience in general ledger migration, including project management, mapping, and reconciliations.
Professional Credentials:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
