Job Overview:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Portfolio Costing Lead. This position is responsible for the consolidation, interpretation, and analysis of costing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual pricing principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support complex estimating models to help support future bids.
  • Manage the day-to-day workload of the existing costing team.
  • Advocate for process improvement to drive efficiencies within the team.
  • Presenting estimating requirements to internal stakeholders.
  • Consolidation of multiple line of business inputs.
  • Performing data analysis to support affordability and pricing discussions with key stakeholders around contract proposals and internal business cases.
  • Ensuring pricing adherence to the latest company standards.
  • Ensuring integrity and accuracy is maintained within the estimates.
  • Longer Term Focus on future funding requirements.
  • Providing support into Tender Vetting process.

Requirements:

  • Strong Understanding of estimating processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Ability to create estimating models).
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Good organisational skills, demonstrated through ability to plan, prioritise and self-manage;
  • Good communicator and able to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Understanding of Economic variables that could affect long-term pricing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present and challenge at various levels of the organisation.
  • Analytical and logical nature with a strong desire for continuous improvement and personal development.
  • A Pro-active and dynamic individual who can work collaboratively and are able to recognise, develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at all levels of the business.

Desirable:

  • ERP System (SAP) experience.
  • Dashboard (Power BI) experience.
  • Understanding of Project Management principles (Lifecycle management).
  • Experience of change management and continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies desirable.
  • Experience in industry standard, portfolio programme delivery, project control methodologies and governance.
  • Experienced and proven risk management capability.
