As a Quantity Surveyor at Keltbray's Energy Transmission & Distribution Business Unit, you will play a crucial role in driving commercial success. Your responsibilities will include project delivery, commercial reporting, and maximizing profit.

Working closely with the commercial team, you will assist in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure profitability, cash management, cost control, and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your key tasks will include:

  1. Contributing to the application and credit control processes.
  2. Understanding income forecast and pricing of variations.
  3. Understanding the change control system.
  4. Managing project risk.
  5. Producing CVRs.
  6. Understanding CTC.
  7. Generating forecasting data.
  8. Understanding the costing process.
  9. Managing the full sub-contract cycle and inputting into sub-contract documentation.
  10. Assisting with weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
  11. Uploading documentation as necessary, in line with business requirements.
  12. Reviewing weekly site records, including allocation sheets and site diaries.
  13. Attending project progress meetings.
  14. Preparing monthly financial performance reports.

You will have the opportunity to gain experience outside of the commercial function, enhancing your understanding of the business and the quantity surveyor's role within it.

We operate a team ethos across the Energy Transmission & Distribution Business Unit, striving to assist colleagues in the execution of their duties where appropriate and beneficial. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

  1. Ensuring adherence to group commercial policies and meeting legislative requirements.
  2. Managing commercial performance against business targets and KPIs.
  3. Collaborating with commercial and operational teams to drive continuous improvement.
  4. Promoting a culture of integration, continuous improvement, and best practices across the client base.
  5. Assisting with the use of key lean tools to drive efficiencies and reduce waste.
  6. Encouraging, supporting, and assisting with successful collaborative planning with the contract delivery teams.
  7. Committing to your own professional development and that of others across the Business Unit.
  8. Other tasks appropriate to the role of Quantity Surveyor, as identified by the Senior Quantity Surveyor/Managing Surveyor.
