Vehicle Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Engineering Team as a fully qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Rotherham.

Your Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet by performing service and maintenance tasks in accordance with planned schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete service and inspection records accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure a first-time pass
  • Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs, investigating and rectifying defects
  • Ensure the safe use of tools, plant, and equipment
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and perform other duties as reasonably required by Management
Requirements
  • Fully skilled with applicable licenses and vocational training (e.g., LGV C&E license)
  • City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs
  • Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components
  • Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Valid driving license and previous experience in a similar role
