Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Operations Officer to join our team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council. As a key member of our Transportation Services team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our internal minibus operations and the allocation of drivers to special educational needs, home to school and adult day care transport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Devise and deliver cost-effective and responsive transport solutions for clients
  • Manage the depot-based Transport Coordinators who oversee operational activity at our three Depots
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of internal minibus operations
  • Allocate drivers to special educational needs, home to school and adult day care transport

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a passenger transport environment (public sector or private sector)
  • Experience in the scheduling and operation of passenger transport or other service delivery vehicles
  • Good communication skills and an understanding of customers' needs and expectations
